Freddy Sicherman adaptation for Agile — Sung to the tune of “The Times They Are a Changing”
Come gather ’round team Wherever you roam And admit that the projects Around you have grown –
And accept it that soon You’ll be drenched to the bone. If your backlog to you Is worth savin’
Then you better start sprinting Or you’ll sink like a stone For the projects they are a-changin’.
Come Product owners Who write with your pen keep your eyes wide The chance won’t come again And don’t speak too soon For the S2’s in spin And there’s no tellin’ who That it’s naming.
For the loser now Will be later to win For the projects they are a-changin’.
Come Directors , Managers Please heed the call Don’t stand in the doorway Don’t block up the hall
For he that does status Will be he who has stalled There’s a version 1 framework – and its ragin’.
It’ll soon shake your team rooms And rattle your halls For the projects they are a-changin’.
Come PM’s and Engineers Throughout the land And don’t criticize What you can’t understand
Your tasks and your Epics Are under your command The old road is Rapidly agin’.
Please get out of the new one If you can’t lend your hand For the projects they are a-changin’.
The line it is drawn The die it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast – And the present now Will later be past The old road is Rapidly fadin’.
And the first one now Will later be last For the Projects they are a-changin’.
